I only bought this b/c it had a Sweep The Leg Johnny track on it. I don't like Bob Seger, I don't know any of the other bands on this EP, I've never otherwise heard of Urinine Records. But it looks like this was kind of a thing for Urinine, getting indie rock bands to do tribute EPs to 70s and 80s rockers.
So, there you have it. Four indie rock/math rock/post hardcore bands from the turn of the millenium, covering four of the Silver Bullet Band's greatest hits. It's a thing...clearly.

What an odd concept. I see that the same label released tributes to CCR, Journey and Supertramp. "Music our parents liked" for the mathcore generation?
As for Bob Seger, I do like the covers of his earliest songs by Seger Liberation Army and Eddie & The Hot Rods, and the Hold Steady's version of "Against The Wind" was good for a laugh. But to paraphrase Craig Finn, "I survived the 70's once already, and I don't remember them all that fondly."
Then again, my opinion and a dollar won't even buy a cup of coffee.
