I'm unemployed, so what better use of time than putting together random mixes. Here's one I made last winter (2018-19), so I had something to listen to while I walked the dog in the rain. L'chaim!
80 Minutes of Jams
- Leonard Cohen, "The Partisan"
- The Slits, "Ping Pong Affair"
- Black Star, "Definition"
- Future Islands, "A Song for our Grandfathers"
- My Bloody Valentine, "I Can See It (But I Can't Feel It)"
- Pianos Become the Teeth, "895"
- Major Lazer feat. VYBZ Kartel, "Pon de Floor"
- Portishead, "We Carry On"
- Solange, "Cranes in the Sky"
- Hüsker Dü, "Chartered Trips"
- The Rapture, "House of Jealous Lovers"
- Hop Along, "No Good Al Joad"
- The Wrens, "Our Brightest New Year"
- Built to Spill, "Car"
- Wipers, "Tragedy"
- The Zombies, "This Will Be Our Year [Mono Mix]"
- Kraftwerk, "Trans-Europe Express [7" Mix]"
- Kris Kristofferson, "Help Me Make It Through The Night"
- Nina Simone, "The House of the Rising Sun [Live]"
The only thing that stands out to me immediately is how old I must be now. With a rare exception or two, all of these songs are five years or older. Apparently, new music frightens and confuses me.
